It’s only 40 mins traveling by boat. You will arrive in totally different atmosphere surrounding by lush green jungle, vegetation, mountains, Mekong River and a local fishing community.
It’s a great place to be connected with nature, retreat, solitude, organic farm & food enthusiasts, rejuvenation, primitive way of living, or a romantic get away.
Guests are welcomed to join the day’s work on the farm or relax on the beach – Create your own experience in paradise. This package is flexible to your interests and includes:
- Private bamboo bungalow with a spectacular views of the Mekong River at sunset
- An experience with sustainable agribusiness entrepreneurship with locals
- All Meals which are harvested from the farm and prepared together
The space
Nestled among 4 hectares, the footpaths through the ecologically planned gardens are surrounded and bordered by majestic cliffs and mountains as well as the mighty Mekong River.
And while the remote location and the nature are the main attractions at Mekong Eden, you will also be sure to rest in clean and comfortable accommodations, designed to maximize sunset views from every corner.
Our main house is elevated above a dining area with hammocks for lounging and features two bedrooms above. the building was thoughtfully designed and built from mostly natural materials.
Our house concept is minimal energy use and zero impact to the environment for people who like to experience living harmony with nature, but we provide for you drinking water, solar lights, battery for phone charger, running tap water supply in the bathroom and shower room.
Transportation
Our beautiful homestay at Mekong Eden Farm is located 50 minutes South of Luang Prabang City and only accessible by the Mekong River. Enjoy a scenic ride on our boat and escape the busy city life.
To keep the boat running, we have to charge additional fees for the transport. For our small boat (traditional fishing boat) we charge 100,000 kip each direction and maximum 3 people. For our big boat (Long boat with roof) the costs are 150,000 kip each direction. It will take you around 40 minutes to get to the farm from Luang Prabang.
Meals
Base on the request from guests, we can provide local authentic food made from our garden fresh organic ingredients for you from our jungle kitchen, it’s 50,000 kip per meal. Breakfast is included!
Otherwise you can also bring your own food or there is a local noodle shop in a village across the Mekong river from our place, they serve a bowl of noodle soup for 8,000 kip. we will arrange the boat crossing for you and you also can explore around to experience our authentic rural Lao Loum village.
